Lindsay Lohan-No Jail Time?

I made a comment in one of the forums of a major news site a few days ago. There were things being said by the judge that led me to believe that no jail time would be handed down. The judge was quoted as warning Lohan not to push her luck. Umm, interesting statement & an insight to his perception of the situation up to this point. This is like the 2nd or 3rd time she has violated probation & she gets sent back to rehab not jail? This is almost never heard of. These 2 scenarios led me to believe she is getting favoritism here, yet again.

My feelings are that she's well past the pushing her luck stage. Below is a copied and pasted paragraph that further supports my thoughts. This will be the very 1st time I've ever heard that a defendant might not serve prison time if convicted of theft while on probation because they are not a threat to society. Never, ever have I heard that. A prison is not a place for hardened criminals? Cmon, it's always been a place for criminals period. And now it seems there's a different definition & perception as to what a prison is for? For Lindsay Lohan??

The quote:
"Adds L.A. criminal defense attorney Harland Braun: "Even if she's convicted, I doubt she'll get state prison time because she's not a physical threat to the public. Prison is generally regarded as a place for hardened criminals, not someone who clearly has mental issues. She has a defensible case."

In essence, are they saying as long as a defendant is no threat to society, they could get away with criminal acts? Could Lohan rack up numerous counts of theft & never ever get prison time? Only cause she's not deemed a threat to society? And what about prisoners already in the system for simple theft?

Evidently she has past theft allegations which could be used against her in court. Hopefully so, because I firmly believe she should be in a prison just like any other typical criminal that's committed theft & violated probation 3x. Since she's had past theft allegations, a prison is also a place for deterrence. A place to keep the offender out of society so they cannot continue to commit crimes.

And don't most all criminals have mental issues? Yet still sent to prison to be held accountable for their actions? It's about accountability.

George Hincapie, a great American cyclist!

This will bring sad, sad news to the peloton & to fans worldwide when American cyclist George Hincapie retires. Hincapie, one of America's greatest & most popular cyclists was along for the ride on all 7 of Lance Armstrong's TdFrance titles. No, I take that back, Hincapie helped lead Armstrong to those 7 titles!! Domestiques do not get the credit they deserve, they do all the work for team leaders in a long tedious job with absolutely no publicity. George is/was one of the greatest workhorses in the cycling world over the past 15 years. Starting & finishing the Tour de France this many times is an incredible feat, especially being a domestique.

If there was ever a wish list for you George it would be to get that Paris-Robaix (Hell of the North) win. One that you have came oh so close to winning, the one I know you want. Good luck this season!!!

Thanks George for all the memories, you are a hero!!!

George Hincapie retiring!!!

Will somewbody go get my gun???

Disclaimer: Meant as sarcasm out of frustration with 2 cell phone services!!! My current service & hopefully my past service!!!

I sometimes have sympathy with these insane people that go shoot up a business out of some sort of frustrations with service!!! Well not really but I have 2 businesses really, really frustrating me!!! Frustrating me, especially when ya can't get a live person on the phone no matter what number you press!!!

Ok, now that the disclaimer is out of the way, I want to describe a horrendous experience that is going on with my 2 cell phone services, a former service and the other hopefully, my new service. Here is the lowdown!

I bought a new cell phone & service (I'll refer to as new service to save face) & took a temporary number while placing a request with my new service to request a transfer of my old number. (which is w/o a doubt acceptable) Ok, it would take 24-48 hours. After the 48 hours came n went, I called my new service again. They took information again & placed another request to the old service, it would take another 24-48 hours. This too came n went. Ok, now, I'm making numerous calls to both services desperately trying to get my old number transferred.

In numerous conversations with my old service, they kept asking for information & that they would go ahead and put this thru & everything was ok. NOT!! Another 24-48 hours passed. Upon speaking to my new service tech again...umm, maybe about the 5th-6th time, they tell me my old service continues to block the request claiming the information I'm giving my new service (to present to my old service on the request) is not matching my old service information. But, in the previous 3-4 conversations they (my old service) agreed that all the information was correct.

Currently, I'm at 13 phone calls to care service, seven of which went to my new service, six going to my old service. Of those 13 calls, 11 of those have went to India. (Not Indiana, yes India) the other 2 I think went to Australia as there was a strong Australian accent. The India calls I'm sure of because I asked. I have logged 3 hrs 23 mins of time on the phone with tech service, some of this was being placed on hold!!

Had I known this would be that hard, I would have taken those 3 hrs 23 mins and just called/texted/e-mailed all of my contacts to let them know my phone number had changed!!! I am currently on another 24-48 hour wait. GRRRR!!!!!

And I guess I'm thankful for technology today (LOL), I was able to sit here and play online games n read while being on hold all those hours.
