My son's 2009 baseball team news!

The National Catholic Team of the Year, The Central Catholic Knights! Congrats to my son, his team, his coaches & all the parents. What an incredible season it was.

Principal Joe Brettnacher presents baseball coach Tim Bordenet with a jacket recognizing the 2009 baseball selection as Sports Faith Internationals High School Team of the Year. The award, which is based on athletic acheivement, team academic acheivement, a comminuty action project, & team spirituality, will be present...ed to Coach Bordenet & team reps on Feb. 21st at The Chicago Halas Hall in Lake Forest IL.

State Champs!

And now State Champs in class A football! The Central Catholic Knights!

Nothing but total dominance!!!!

It's sectional time! Our #1 ranked Central Catholic Knights vs #2 ranked Pioneer Panthers!

Although Nick does not play football, his school's #1 ranked varsity football team will play #2 ranked Pioneer Panthers in the opening round of The Sectionals!!!

The storyline:
Small-school football fans across the state won't have to wait much longer for one of the season's most anticipated games.

Class A No. 1 Central Catholic will face No. 2 Pioneer in the opening round of Sectional 34 at LaRocca Field, after pairings were drawn at the Colts headquarters in Indianapolis on Tuesday night.

Both teams are undefeated entering Friday's regular season finales. CC and Pioneer have been 1-2 atop the Associated Press poll since Week 4.

"Neither team has ever had a real test, and both teams have been running 1-2 in the polls all year long," Knights coach Kevin O'Shea said. "What better way to open up the tournament than the best going at it?"
